Something I made for you

For Leroy

I know you're upset with me. I know you don't want to talk right now.

But before anything else, I wanted to say I'm sorry — properly.

I really am sorry.

I know an apology doesn't erase what happened. I just wanted to take the time to explain myself properly instead of leaving things the way they were.

A letter from me to you

Dear Leroy,

I don't know if you'll ever read this, but I wanted to make this because I didn't want the last thing between us to simply be me hurting you.

I'm genuinely sorry for telling you what people had said and for calling you arrogant. I know those words hurt you, and I understand why you're upset with me.

When I told you what people were saying, I didn't tell you their names because I was trying to protect you.

I wasn't trying to play games with you, turn you against anyone, or make you suspicious. I honestly thought keeping their names out of it would protect you from unnecessary drama and from having to deal with things people were saying behind your back.

But I understand that from your side, it probably didn't feel that way. I can understand why you would be hurt or confused when I told you something but wouldn't tell you who said it.

I should have handled everything differently. I'm sorry that I didn't.

I also shouldn't have let other people's words affect the way I spoke to you. You didn't deserve to have their words become something that came from me.

Calling you arrogant was wrong. Even if I was upset, I should have chosen better words. I wish I could take those words back.

I'm not making this to pressure you into talking to me. You have every right to be upset and to take your space.

I just want you to know that I am truly sorry, Leroy.

And despite everything that happened, I still care about you. That's why this apology means so much to me.

You don't have to reply. You don't owe me forgiveness. I just wanted you to know that behind everything I did, I never wanted to hurt you.

I'm really sorry.

One last thing

Can you forgive me?

I'm not asking you to forget what happened. I'm not asking you to pretend you weren't hurt.

I'm just asking that, when you're ready, you forgive me for hurting you.

Your turn

Say something.

You can tell me how you feel. You can be honest with me. You don't have to make it pretty. I'll listen.

Thank you. ❤️

Your message is ready to send. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
